After bidding goodbye to Salvador, Team West undertook a long bus journey to reach Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. Here they met with their new host Matthieu, who is director of French Alliance in Brasilia. In the interview, Matthieu discusses how he became friends with Mamadou, spills their funny secrets, and also talks about his friend and colleague, Barbara, who will be the next host for the travelers.
What is your superpower?
I don't know, my superpower? I can stay awake more than 40 hours without sleeping.
What is your spirit vegetable?
A carrot.
What do you expect from a friend?
Honesty, faithfulness, understanding. That's it.
How important are friends to you?
Probably the most important thing in life, with family.
Is it easy to become friends in your country?
Yes, I think Brazilian people are really open to making new friends and meeting people and I have interests in getting in touch with foreigners. So I feel that it's not been difficult here yet to meet people and to have new friendships.
