Line, friend of Pattie and Carly

Team West traveled from Texas to Lake Tahoe, located between California and Nevada, to meet their new host Line. Line actually lives in Berkeley, California, but she is on a holiday at the picturesque lake. In her interview, Line talks about her work as a linguist professor at the University of California, her fond memories with friend Pattie, and also advices the travelers on how to greet their next host, Carly, who is from Hawaii.
What is your superpower?
My superpower is kindness.
What would you change in your country if you were able to?
I would bring in to everybody's heart the love for the common good.
What do you expect from a friend?
Trust and openness and companionship.
How important are friends to you?
That's impossible to say, they're so important. Life couldn't be without friends.
How often do you meet up with friends?
I feel like I see a friend every day, partly because some of my students are my friends, and so are some of my colleagues, my landlady is my friend. I have friends that I only see once a year, say in Denmark, but when I see them they're still my friends. So I don't think it matters how often you see your friends.
Is it easy to become friends?
Yes, I think that if you're open to it, it's easy to become friends.
Can women and men be friends?
Oh yes! I mean of course they can be friends.
