Matic, friend of Meta and Djordje

In the city of Ljubljana, Team East met up with their host Matic, friend of Meta. In his funny and vibrant tone, Matic tells us about his spirit vegetable, his superpower, and how the feeling of having friends he can always count on is more important than anything else. He also talks about his friendship with 'the bigger than life artist' Djordje.
What is your superpower?
Connecting people. I absolutely like connecting weird people from all over the place, so this is why this is so hard, because I'd just send you all the way to Tokyo now.
What would you change in your country if you were able to?
A lot. A lot, we can't really go into details. I'd change the education system, the political system, the way we do stuff, a lot. I've been thinking about it a lot, it's just complicated. A lot of things need to change to make the world a more humanly place.
What is your spirit vegetable?
Potato. I don't know why, I love potatoes. it grows in the dark but it's edible. It's a weird vegetable - I have to put some thought into that.
What do you expect from a friend?
Nothing. To be themselves, to be open, honest. Maybe let me sleep on the couch once in a while.
How important are friends to you?
The most important ever. Friends are family. Friends are the family you make. So I have a lot of really good friends I can count on and I can send people in the middle of the night, I can go there in the middle of the night and this - the feeling to have that is more important than anything else.
How often do you meet up with friends?
A lot, but a lot of friends live very far away. So I try to do the best I can but there're people in the States that I'm dying to meet and it's just so far that it's so hard to plan but social networks help so we do video chats and stuff and stay in touch and really try to keep up with each other's lives.
Is it easy to become friends?
Well for me it is. I know it's not easy for a lot of people but I make a lot of friends real quick. To me, being this tall that everybody has to give me five minutes, is also helpful. And also being a bit of an idiot so I know a funny thing or two to say to people.
Can women and men be friends?
Of course, absolutely. Big friends.
