Alexander, friend of Philip and Pipa
What is your superpower?
I think empathy. Giving space to people to feel free. It's what I like about myself the most and that's what I would call my superpower.
What would you change in your country if you were able to?
I would change double standards. I don't like double standards, to be honest. Like in politics, things that are going on. Saying we're changing something for the better but in the end, it's not really a change. It's just giving money to some people and taking power from others. For me, this doesn't make any sense. It could be more human, you know.
What are you proud of?
I am proud of my friends, I'm proud of my family and the people that give me joy in my life. I'm proud of myself for giving joy to other people. I'm proud of everyone who's watching this, who is interested in friendship and making connections.
What is your spirit vegetable?
I love Broccoli. And it looks so funny, it's like a little tree.
What do you expect from a friend?
I have no expectations of my friends. I think this is what makes friendship, that you don't expect something from someone else. That you're just yourself and the other person is also themselves, And together you find a good vibe, a good connection. And everything else will happen automatically.
How important are friends to you?
Friends to me, are very very important. Otherwise, I wouldn't need my mouth at all. I can talk to friends and friends also remind you of things. If you don't feel well for example, why ever, it doesn't have to be rational at all, a friend can just look in your eyes and say you know what, everything's all right. And sometimes you need a friend to tell you that.
How often do you meet up with friends?
I meet my friends a lot. Always after work. Sometimes I don't like to meet anyone. I like to chill with myself, but I'm also my own friend. And I would say in Zurich especially, it's very easy to make friends.
Is it easy to become friends in your country?
I think it's easy to make friends almost everywhere. I mean, everywhere I've been to. You just have to be open-minded and not feel ashamed to adapt.
