Hi, I am Holly
I am part of Yuujou because...
I spent my early 20s chasing love to England, working for an eco-lodge in Belize, and earning a graduate degree in urban planning which enabled study in amazing cities. I owned nothing. I never signed a lease. Life was always about what came next.
Then I got a professional job, a 401k, a car, and a lot of shoes. I expected some disillusionment to follow this, and some did, but something wonderful happened too. As I put down roots I suddenly had time to focus on deepening existing friendships (from college, grad school, travels) and beginning new ones (with colleagues, neighbors, the Airbnb guests I started hosting). The people in my life became the most important thing, rather than getting on the next plane.
Yuujou finds me in a moment where I'm itching to combine my previous identity—traveler—with my current focus—human connection. And it will give me a platform to pursue a project I’ve always wanted to take on: writing professionally about cities and how people live
listen, laugh with me, tell me something real, and teach me something new.
