Day 69: Team West

Yvonne, Jed and Panos are still in Mexico City and they fully enjoy the Mexican culture. They decide to split up for three different programs: Yvonne goes to Coyoacán, explores the neighborhood and the local market. Jed walks through the historical city center of Mexico city. And Panos decides to visit San Juan Teotihuacán which is a vast Mexican archaeological complex northeast of Mexico City. It's not only a religious temple. It used to be a city and the population of this mysterious metropolis reached a peak of 200'000 people. Most other famous temples in Mexico were either built by the Aztecs or the Mayans, but no one knows who built Teotihuacán.

The travelers then end the day together with Ricardo's sister Gabi at a Lucha Libre fight night. It can be translated as "freestyle wrestling" and is a unique form of wrestling, characterized by colorful masks, a spectacular acrobatic style and rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers. Lucha Libre has a strong tradition going back decades and popular Mexican wrestlers have also become film and TV stars.
